Botanical Gardens

We will pick you up in your own private air conditioned van and continue on a guided tour for a day celebrating this areas rich bounty of tropical flora. Offering a pleasant respite from hustling crowd is a family run botanical garden. The pretty Horcones River running through its 25 rolling acres, hiking or walking the bird watching come naturally. A work in progress, six trails are now in existence, each lined with different plants: cacti, water gardens, flowering shrubs, orchids, stream plans, and fern grottos.

Also to visit on site, is a pottery shop and the Plantation House Café. The café features a wood burning stove, with pizzas and specialty salads made from ingredients organically grown on the property.

Yelapa

A town only accessible by water taxi, is a must see. Once you catch a water taxi from Boca de Tomatlan (small village by the water) you will be on a 15 minutes ride to Yelapa. There you will be welcomed by the locals who and there restaurants on the beach, hosting the freshest of fresh seafood and other delights. Spend you day either basking in the sun or take a horse back ride up to the water falls and swim in the fresh water pools. The town is quaint, with small shops selling local hand craft and jewelry.

The privacy is fantastic especially this time of the year. Don’t forget to look for the famous pie lady, selling pieces of home made pies on the beach (coconut is my favorite!!).

San Sebastian

Behind Puerto Vallarta in the Sierra Madre Mountains is an old mining town that has a completely different atmosphere than Puerto Vallarta. At 4,500 ft. with pine trees, the air is crisp and clear and at night it can be quite cold.

In the surrounding valley you'll find cattle, corn and coffee plantations. The local coffee is excellent and you can sample and purchase it in town. Founded in 1605, San Sebastian del Oeste was one of the gold and silver mining centers of Mexico. At one time a provincial capital of 40,000 people, you will find it with only about 600 people living there now.

The mines were, in part, responsible for the start of Puerto Vallarta. Then known as Las Peñas and consisting of just a few huts at the mouth of the Rio Cuale, it was used to supply the mines with salt which was taken by mules up to San Sebastian and other mines in the High Sierras and used in the smelting process. The silver and gold from the mines as sent, again by mule train through Guadalajara and Mexico City to Veracruz, where it was sent, once a year, to Spain. The mines are long gone, although the ruins of them are still there, some distance from the town. Spend the day looking around, and seeing all that the town has to offer.The Plaza, its Bandstand and surrounding buildings are typical of the colonial period.

Sayulita

The picturesque fishing village of Sayulita Mexico offers visitors and residents incredible beaches, lush jungles and a taste of rural Mexico. Located on the Pacific coast of Nayarit, Mexico, this pueblo is slowly gaining popularity as a vacation/second home destination with plenty of North Americans. With cobblestone streets hosting dogs, chickens and playing children, Sayulita is a half-century away from nearby Puerto Vallarta and its huge resorts. Sayulita's location is ideal, only 35 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta airport. This sleepy beach town is filled with amazing food and welcoming locals. Playa Los Muertos (City Beach)-It's usually called “the blue chairs”, which really is one section of this special beach on the south side of Puerto Vallarta.  Los Muertos is the busiest beach area commonly known as the blue chairs.  Spread out under little palapa (thatched) umbrellas are literally blue beach chairs, where our kind of people tend to hang out.  So many, in fact, that the gay beach area now includes the green chairs of the Loony Tunes concession area too, immediately south of the blue chairs.

In this area you'll find hundreds of men and women sitting under the palapas or on towels near the surf line, soaking up the hot Mexican sun and socializing with others from all over the world.  Both the blue and green chairs areas serve drinks and food.  You don't have to buy anything or pay, this is a public beach.

Mexican Fiesta

Mexicans need little excuse to plan a party, theses events run for 3 to 4 hours in the evening. This event includes a variety of traditional performances by vibrantly costumed regional dance troupes, and charros in full dress demonstrate their horse roping expertise. Mariachi play lively national favorites and marimba musicians get you out of your chair. Spectators are invited to participate in various games to compete for prizes.

By night Las Caletas (small area of the coastline) is transformed into a magical paradise. Surfing On the Mexican Pacific Coast!

1) Description and Location: Anclote -Anclote is a wide beach with tranquil surf.
Its crystal clear water and white sand make it perfect for any age - a great tour for families.
After the lesson, we'll provide lunch at the beach.

2) Description and Location: Lancha
One of our favorite tours, we'll drive 40 minutes to Punta Mita.
We'll boat out to our surf destination, while enjoying the great view of the Marietta islands
and the coast. You can optionally hike the area during this tour.

3) Description and Location: Burros
North of Puerto Vallarta, Burros is a world-class surf beach with a break year-around.
In addition to great surf, Burroshas beautiful views of Islas Marietas, the mountains,
and the sea. Our shade palapa will be there waiting forus, where we will provide drinks
and snacks.

Swim With The Dolphins

Take a journey into the intriguing world of the dolphin through amazing face to face encounters in which you can touch, feel, play, learn and swim with dolphins. Interacting with our dolphins leaves a lasting impression on your heart and mind, as you are immersed in an incredible experience. Our 40 minutes in the water is intimate, exhilarating, enlightening, and tender all rolled into a swirl of shared laughter.

Duration of the program is 90 minutes including orientation. Group size is limited to five people per dolphin to ensure that you have the most personal magical experiences.

Tequila Tasting     

Tequila is Mexico’s claim to fame and is extracted from the agave plant. It must be blue agave to be real tequila. When we adventure out to Mismaloya, waiting for us will be Mama Lucia’s distillery. There you have the chance to see where the agave plants are grown, learn how they are processed and distilled (the old fashioned way in wood barrels). Most important and fun of all……. are tasting all the different types and flavors of tequila. Such as chocolate, peach, pine-apple, cherry, coconut, coffee and many more! After the “lick, salt, tequila, lime” events, we will stop for a great lunch and marvel at the jungle scenery and the tequila souvenirs we will be taking home.

Gentle, Restorative Yoga – This time is dedicated to you and restoring your energy and equilibrium in the body through a gentle hatha yoga-based practice including breathing exercises, long stretches, and gentle asana (poses). Basic Flow Vinyasa - This practice is strengthening, flowing, opening and empowering. Time is spent flowing from one pose to the next with awareness to your breath. You will begin with breath and body warm-ups, and move through sun salutations and balancing poses ending in basic inversions and a sweet savasana. All levels.

Power Flow Vinyasa - This vigorous asana class is for those who want to gain strength and stamina from their yoga practice.  Great for athletes. Flowing with your breath and staying in the asana for at least 5 breaths will help to achieve the mind/body/breath balance that leads to feeling "Yoga Good!" Expect to sweat. All levels.

Partner Yoga – You will be led in yoga asana and Thai massage techniques together and learn partner poses that benefit both at the same time. No yoga experience is necessary.

Temazcal Experience

From its pre-Hispanic heritage, Mexicans have recovered a ritual ceremony that was celebrated among indigenous cultures as a therapeutic cleansing. The word temazcal comes from the Nahuatl word temazcalli.

Several volcanic rocks are heated and placed in the center of an igloo-type construction, where the group will be sitting/relaxing. After the initial ceremony of chants and songs, the conch shell is sounded, signaling the beginning of the temazcal bath. The group gets comfortable inside the temazcal and the stones are called for. The door is closed, sealing off the cool and sealing in the heat. Herbs are thrown on the stones to create a sweet smelling vapor, heating the temazcal to even higher temperatures. The body may reach a temperature of 104°F (40° C) during the temazcal.

If you want to stay active on your vacation, we can schedule you some court time at a premier tennis resort.   Whether you are an experienced player or a beginner you will enjoy getting out and hitting some balls. Your package includes a choice of either clay courts or covered hard courts, a can of balls and rental racquets.  We can also provide a hitting partner if necessary.
